ZigZag wins at the Drapers Awards 2023

ZigZag was welcomed on stage at the Drapers Awards to collect its second award of 2023, taking home the accolade for Tech Innovator of the Year for its Returns Reporting Hub. This was ZigZag’s first win at the Drapers Awards, an event aimed at celebrating the ‘fashion leaders that have helped the industry become more responsible, inclusive, and digitally forward thinking’.

At a time where the retail industry is battling frequent supply chain disruption, high inflation, and returns-hungry shoppers, retailers are forced to be proactive. It is vital retailers do all they can to minimise logistical disruption and find the right balance between recouping or minimising costs and delivering an excellent customer experience. ZigZag’s Returns Reporting Hub presents retailers with the tools to do just that.

The ZigZag Reporting Hub enables retailers to make more informed business decisions that cut costs, identify pain points, and generate more loyal customers with a convenient and effective process. The functionality allows retailers to readily surface insights that optimise their carrier network, monitor customer dropout points, and identify toxic products. Importantly, brands can monitor their paid returns rollout across different markets, thus reducing the financial burden of returns whilst ensuring a smooth transition for its customers.

The panel of respected judges, ranging from retailers such as Sainsburys, M&S, Primark and The Very Group to renowned Economists such as Richard Lim and Richard Hyman, were particularly impressed with ZigZag’s innovative flair to provide smarter returns for retailers, customers, and the planet.

ZigZag’s Founder & CEO, Al Gerrie, and Chief Marketing Officer, Lee Barwin, were both invited on stage to accept the award in front of a packed professional audience. Retailers such as FatFace, AllSaints, N Brown, Secret Sales, Original Penguin, Canada Goose, Ebay, and many more were shortlisted for awards at the event, so just being nominated was an honour. Taking home the award at such an industry-revered awards ceremony, and in such a fiercely competed for category, was a testament to the incredible work ZigZag and its team has achieved this year.

Speaking of the win, Al Gerrie stated, “It’s been a huge year for ZigZag - we’ve processed over £1.5 billion pounds of returns this year which I think shows the scale of the return challenge we are solving.
We’re so fortunate to work with some of the largest fashion retailers in the UK and across the world to support them with their returns in 170 countries in 2023. This is a team effort so I’d like to thank the entire team at ZigZag and we are immensely proud of the instant impact the ZigZag Returns Reporting Hub has made.”

Lee Barwin added, “It’s a real honour to be able to add the prestigious Draper’s Tech Innovator of the Year Award to our crowded trophy cabinet. I’m sure we will be fielding some calls from the amazing list of retailers in the room last night to see how ZigZag can help them transform their returns."
