ZigZag claims Best Supply Chain Innovation at the CILT Awards

The accolade makes it six consecutive years that ZigZag has taken the stage (sometimes virtually) to collect an award for innovation.

“Recognising success even in the hardest of times” was the newly adopted strapline for the CILT Awards, and it’s rather fitting. From Brexit to COVID-19 chaos and store closures, 2020 was an incredibly challenging year for retailers. ZigZag is delighted to have been able to continue to make their lives easier, at least when it came to returns.

Our returns platform was recognised by the prestigious CILT Awards last night at a packed virtual ceremony boasting an audience of nearly 500 logistics and transport professionals. Mind reader and mentalist Matt Daniel-Baker kicked off proceedings with some impressive tricks before words from CILT President Steve Gooding and Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Patron of CILT.

The Best Supply Chain Innovation Award, sponsored by Clipper Logistics, acknowledged the brightest companies revolutionising supply chains across a host of different sectors. As more consumers continue to explore eCommerce during lockdown, the ZigZag team worked hard on a number of initiatives to make the returns journey more user-friendly and comprehensive for retailers and their customers alike.

The judges were impressed by the adoption of our paperless returns solution that allows retailers to dramatically reduce their paper wastage, our dynamic exchanges functionality, and our work with Shell and Menzies distribution to bring a carbon neutral returns option to petrol stations. At a time when logistics resources were stretched with reduced workforces and higher than ever demand for eCommerce, the efficiencies and cost saving potential of our online portal proved vital for keeping goods moving during lockdown. We are proud to represent reverse logistics as the only returns solutions showcased at the CILT Awards.

Whilst it’s the first award collected in 2021, we are confident it won’t be our last!
