ZigZag included in the RWRC Discovery 50 & nominated for The World Post & Parcel Awards 2020
It is no secret that the last month has been one of the most testing in recent memory for the retail industry. COVID-19 has caused widespread disruption across the retail industry and resulted in the majority of us spending the entirety of April in lockdown. However, ZigZag Global rounded off April 2020 with a double salvo of good news.
The first accolade was in the shape of the RWRC Discovery 50. ZigZag Global is among the top 50 retail tech start-ups operating globally, according to a new report published by RWRC – home of Retail Week and World Retail Congress.
Profiling the top 50 global retail tech start-ups, the Discovery 50 report analyses the influential role start-ups including ZigZag play in this new world. Start-ups were judged and shortlisted by a panel of retail and business experts including retail consultant Ian Shephard, retail analyst Natalie Berg, former Morrisons CTO Anna Barsby, Co:Cubed chief executive Jeremy Basset, Retail Week head of insight Lisa Byfield-Green and more.
Retail Week commercial content editor Megan Dunsby commented: “The Discovery 50 shows how start-ups can offer a lifeline for retailers. Retailers should look to the Discovery 50 as a directory of the best start-ups to work with.” The report offers advice on how leaders can open themselves up to new and different ways of thinking and the benefits this can have on the bottom line, and can be downloaded here >>
The second piece of great news continued to highlight ZigZag’s impressive work over the last year. Now in their 21st year, the World Post & Parcel Awards are a world renowned programme dedicated to shining a light on the emerging talents in the mail and express industry and signalled out ZigZag Global for the 2020 edition of the awards.
ZigZag has received a nomination for the Innovation Award alongside SOLYSTIC, a delivery preparation and automated sorting solutions, and Tiramiszoo, a transport management system for urban logistics. ZigZag will hope to accept the award in front of over a hundred retail industry executives at the awards ceremony in June, however, for the first time in its history the awards will be a virtual event.
With only 9 awards up for grabs and just 27 shortlisted companies, we are proud to receive the nomination from such a prestigious, industry-recognised event, and look forward to donning a tuxedo and dinner dress in front of a webcam!
